Elida Gleason Stout
SEARCH
The birth-name of Elida Gleason Stout, Orphan Train Rider taken by Fred and Emma Gleason, is not known. No one knows if Fred and Emma legally adopted Elida, or if she just "took" their name but Marian 0. Hurtig, niece of Emma, is trying to fit pieces of the puzzle together.
Marian used resources of the DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution) to learn Elida was buried in 1954 in the Siria Cemetery in Yates Center (Woodson County), Kansas.
Emma and Fred possibly lived in Concordia (Clay County), Kansas when they took Elida.
However, Marian is lucky to have this photograph of Emma (on the left) and Elida (on the right) as part of her "puzzle".
